Hope to Cope
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

I only write of what I know is true
God wants this truth revealed to you
during your time of loss, sadness and despair
reach out to God and He'll be there
you will survive this agonizing pain
should you give up hope, your suffering is in vain
to grieve is an absolute must
you'll eventually accept your reality and begin to trust
this healing process requires patience and time
don't be so hard on yourself is the point of my rhyme
God doesn't expect you to grieve alone
remember the love others have shown
there's no such thing as a "get out of grief free" card
keep a soft heart so it won't become hard
you're stronger than you think and yes, you will survive
your loved one would want you to testify you're still alive
you can't depend on the sedatives, alcohol and dope
depend on God - He'll give you hope to cope

Philipians 4:13
I can do everything through him who gives me strength

Psalm 51:10-12
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

About the Poet
I grew up in rural North Carolina, married for 38 years to my best friend and soulmate, Allen, who retired almost 17 years ago from the Air Force after 24 years of service to our beloved America. We have a daughter, Ashley ( and son-in-law, Kris) and, a son, John, and, our two beautiful grand daughters, Amelia and Haley, and Isaac, our only grandson, all blessings from God. We have four cats; Mr. Peabody, Missy, aka Middle Kitty and Tabby, aka Little Kitty, and Gracie. I've seen a lot of hard times and God has always been here for me to see me through them. I am a vessel God can use to help others in need. If I could be described in one word, it would be that I am an encourager.
