I Will Rececive Lif'e's Best

Thin, delicate clouds surround the autumn moon
Ink black night will give way to daylight soon

Mysteries of the new day will unfold
Beauty and peace will be mine to hold

Countless stars shine their heavenly light
I'm happy to witness this beautiful sight

The sea is peaceful and calm
The soft breeze is temperate with balm

Dawning of a brand new day
God's blessings will come my way

My heart is at peace - my mind is at rest
With nothing holding me back, I will receive life's best

Author's note: As I wrote this poem, I was sitting on my balony on the ship, Ms Westerdam, reverently appreciating the beauty of the Atlantic Ocean and the privilege of spending a week with my husband on a Caribbean Cruise as we celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary.  God is so good :)

About the Poet
I grew up in rural North Carolina, married for 38 years to my best friend and soulmate, Allen, who retired almost 17 years ago from the Air Force after 24 years of service to our beloved America. We have a daughter, Ashley ( and son-in-law, Kris) and, a son, John, and, our two beautiful grand daughters, Amelia and Haley, and Isaac, our only grandson, all blessings from God. We have four cats; Mr. Peabody, Missy, aka Middle Kitty and Tabby, aka Little Kitty, and Gracie. I've seen a lot of hard times and God has always been here for me to see me through them. I am a vessel God can use to help others in need. If I could be described in one word, it would be that I am an encourager.
