The Midnight Hour

The Midnight Hour

Orange ball of fire,
Wanderer of the heavens
Cast moonglow
Into the ebony night.

Black cat,
Back arched
Against the shadowy moon,
Wails for the wandering soul.

Raucous caw of the raven
Bodes ill omens
As it echoes through the
Misty stillness of the forest.

Disembodied, unearthly spirits,
Floating specters
Search open graves
For vanished entities.

Deep, dark secrets naked in:
The witching hour
The eleventh hour
The midnight hour.

About the Poet
I still have 4 grandsons and love to write. Although it hasn't been easy (nothing worth while ever is), on June 1 Floyd and I will celebrate our 57th wedding anniversary.
