Simple Things

Simple Things
,br />

Lord, I love the simple things in life:
like gumdrops and raindrops,
comfy chairs and teddy-bears,
fireflies and butterflies,
and knowing You are
here during my morning prayers.
Keeping the promises to God
close to my heart and
resting in His loving arms.
Let my heart be like yours, Lord,
loving an kind.
May my heart always be happy
and may I pass on that happiness
to others with each one of my smiles.
I believe in God's Son even if
the sun isn't shining.
I believe  His love covers me even
when I am alone.
I believe in God even when
He is silent.
Yesterday is over the hill,
tomorrow is still down the hill.
I must watch my footing at
the top of the hill, just for today.
For our precious moments today...
will be our memories tomorrow.

"Now faith is the substance of things
hoped for, the evidence of things not
seen."  (Hebrews 11:1 King James Version)

About the Poet
Born on October 24, 1939, I was one of seven children. I am now a mother of seven grown children, grandmother of 18, widow, and writer for the past 50 years mostly poetry. Day care provider of many years, now retired. Three poetry books published, but no longer in print, several little poem books self published. Published in local newspapers, several magazines and daily devotionals. My faith, family and writing poetry has brought me thus far.
