The Gift of Pain

     The Gift of Pain

Oh, pain, oh, pain.

Sent to me by God.

Oh, pain, oh, pain.

How long can I endure.

Though I feel, less alert,

I seem to be less afraid.

Oh, Lord, oh Lord,

In Your arms I'll be sure.

"For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee
of thy wounds, says the Lord."(Jeremiah 30:17) KJV

author's note: I was just in the hospital for almost three weeks
with pnemonia and some other health issues.  I am on the mend
and must tell you the day I went in my only prayer was:  "Lord,
hold me in your arms as I surrender all to you."

About the Poet
Born on October 24, 1939, I was one of seven children. I am now a mother of seven grown children, grandmother of 18, widow, and writer for the past 50 years mostly poetry. Day care provider of many years, now retired. Three poetry books published, but no longer in print, several little poem books self published. Published in local newspapers, several magazines and daily devotionals. My faith, family and writing poetry has brought me thus far.
