Going Home

GOING  HOME

In honour of Laurie Jenkins fellow poet and sister in Christ

I’m going home

I’ve packed my bag

I’ve wrapped it up in spotted rag

The precious joy of sweet birdsong

The sunset as the day is done

Excitement at the dawns first light

The stars adorning stillest night

The greenest green after the rain

The bluest sea like a glassy plain

The smell of sea ,and grass and bread

The gentle nodding of a tiny head

Those lovely ones You had me meet

They touched my heart

With times so sweet

I thank You Lord

That they were there

When I needed  love and care

All creatures that I held or saw

With wonder how I did adore

Your majesty in all these things

The richness that Your spirit brings

The joy of prayer

With You dear Lord

As I understood Your word

I pray this now as I do leave

That all may know Your love,

Your plan

And how You hold them

                            In Your hand.           Lyn Nowland

About the Poet
I live in Queensland Australia with my husband son and daughter. I love the Lord and it is my passion to express my faith in whatever way He inspires me to. At the moment it's poetry.
