I Am Giving Thanks!

I am giving thanks this Thanksgiving - for all of the blessings of God - life more abundantly in Him more than I ever could imagine -each day is a blessing -  to see the fall leaves of beautiful gold, red and yellow- I am in awe -   I am giving thanks this Thanksgiving for the seemingly small and simple things in life - a talk with a friend who inspires and encourages - a meal shared - laughter and fun - I am giving thanks this thanksgiving - for the God who sees all and knows all - in our weaknesses He is strong - and knows the road we must take to accomplish what He has for us - I am giving thanks this Thanksgiving - for being in a nation founded on Godly principles - where Christians are praying - His will be done on earth as it is in heaven- I am giving thanks this Thanksgiving - for the coffee in the morning warming my heart and soul - as I reflect on the goodness of God - He has seen fit to allow me to be a part of His awesome kingdom- He has placed me in a body of believers in fellowship - He puts the lonely in families - He knows the right thing to do in every situation - I am giving thanks this Thanksgiving for the life of my friends and family - may their lights shine to show and point the way to the Giver of life eternal - I am giving thanks this thanksgiving for good food - the groaning and abundant  tables of the season’s harvest - southern traditions - turkey, dressing, giblet gravy, cornbread, collard greens, beans, sweet potato pie, pumpkin pie, pound cake -chocolate cake - need I say more- it does the heart and body good - strength to praise the Lord and so much more

I am giving thanks this Thanksgiving!

I am giving thanks this Thanksgiving for the Hand that reached down to save me - the nail scarred Hands that saved my soul - the blood of the cross that made me whole - I am giving thanks this Thanksgiving to the One who hears and responds to the smallest cry - to those without and to the - helpless -He brings help from His Holy hill - to the hopeless He gives hope - a light in the darkness that surrounds - He is a friend to the friendless - and raises them up to see His glorious face - to say that all is well - I am giving thanks this Thanksgiving - for the new thing he brings each morning - His mercy never fails - His love never quits - Joy and peace are in His wake - as he walks among us - blessings as He goes - lifting up the bowed down head - making a way where there seems to be none - impossible situations He specializes- I am giving thanks this Thanksgiving - for He has given me a voice to sing and praise His name - to worship Him in spirit and in truth - blessed be the name of the Lord - who loves all who call upon His name - Jesus

I am giving thanks this Thanksgiving! Happy Thanksgiving to all!

About the Poet
I was born in Lexington County, SC. I lived in Jacksonville, Florida for many years.I recently moved back home to my home town, Columbia, SC. I have one daughter, Kimberly. I now have two brothers. One went to be with the Lord in January, 2010. My Mom went to be with the Lord, Memorial Day May 28, 2012. Among the things I am grateful for and remembering about her is my salvation. She was a strong passionate woman of God all of her life and a beautiful loving Mother. I was saved and baptized in the ocean in Rota, Spain. What an experience that was! Holy Spirit chased me and drew me to Himself, while I was alone in another country. I surrendered to the Lord, and His peace flooded my soul. It was so beautiful. I am so happy he saved me and redeemed me. I am so happy to share these poems from His heart and mine. Poetry is a release and has inspired and encouraged me and many who have read my poetry. I was blessed to write for a number of years on Crossway Publications and had over 300 poems that I wrote on the site. God has increased my gift with more beautiful poetry. In 2005 my poetic writings seemed to catch the fire of God and have a deeper meaning. I thank God for this chance to share my poetry with all. God Bless...
