Cause of Our Joy

You are the cause of our joy,

Sweet gentle maiden of God;

And so as we rejoice,

We remember your name;

Hail full of grace,

He called out to you;

Yes you responded so rightly

You are the cause of our joy,

Sweet gentle maiden of God;

His most precious gift,

Was given through you;

Of righteous receipt,

Our saviour you bore,

Oh so immaculately.

You are the cause of our joy,

Sweet gentle maiden of God.

The earth, and its share

Of laughter is,

All because of you;

The mother who laid her baby,

In a manger so tenderly.

You are the cause of our joy,

Sweet gentle maiden of God;

The mother of Christ Jesus,

Mary;

Blessed forever,

He promised,

You shall be.
