By Your Cross

We were made for our Creator, Jesus, Savior Lord of all,

When, on the Cross, then Resurrected, He fulfilled the Law,

Declaring us as beneficiaries of His Gracious Gift,

Declaring us as perfect, sinless, holy, without rift!

Oh, our Bless'ed Savior, Jesus, Who had died to pay for sin,

So that someday we can share with Him, in Glory, we born again,

And even though we have our trials, He will see us through,

Unto a Land of pristine wonder, beautiful and new!

Yes, Jesus, God's Own Son, come down from Heaven's Courts Above,

He came to give Eternal Life, True Liberty, and Love!

And how we owe Him all our praise, for all that He has done,

The bottom line, our Risen King, our souls and hearts has won!

My Jesus, I was weak and feeble, when I heard Your Cry,

Calling to this soul, a sinner, forlorn, condemned to die!

But it was Love that overcame my pitied life and loss,

When You had Triumphed over death and saved me...by Your Cross!

About the Poet
I am 64, a born-again Christian, and didn't write until 1974. My mother inspired me to write poetry, from an early age since she developed a deep love for poetry in my life. However it took years before I tried to write. My favorite subject to write about is my Savior, Jesus Christ, and religious subjects. I reside in Cleveland, Ohio.
