The Three Hundredth Poem

This poem is dedicated to Mr. Quentin Clingerman

July 4, 2005 I submitted my first poems to Que
because God wanted me to share them with you
I can only write of what I know
The glory of God I want to show
Merely an ordinary human being
Simply stated, the love of God revealing
My poems are designed to inspire
to lift you up and take you higher
I never dreamt I'd write a three hundredth
Of one and all, God knows their depth and breadth
written from the heart, as simple as they are
God uses even me, a cracked jar
And now you've read the three hundredth poem
All because God winked and whispered to me, "let's show 'em"

John 1:12-14 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God -- children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but  born of God.  The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.  We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

About the Poet
I grew up in rural North Carolina, married for 38 years to my best friend and soulmate, Allen, who retired almost 17 years ago from the Air Force after 24 years of service to our beloved America. We have a daughter, Ashley ( and son-in-law, Kris) and, a son, John, and, our two beautiful grand daughters, Amelia and Haley, and Isaac, our only grandson, all blessings from God. We have four cats; Mr. Peabody, Missy, aka Middle Kitty and Tabby, aka Little Kitty, and Gracie. I've seen a lot of hard times and God has always been here for me to see me through them. I am a vessel God can use to help others in need. If I could be described in one word, it would be that I am an encourager.
