A Spacious Place

on this last day of 2005
I'm glad to be alive

thank you seems so small
but thank you one and all

your encouragement and smiles
I've felt across the miles

just one thing more before I go
there's something special I want you to know

God has brought me to a spacious place
thanks for His wonderful mercy and grace

in view of hills and vales
strolling through our woodland trails

building our dream home at Trail's End
is a blessing God did surely send

this home is truly a spacious place
the joy I feel nothing can replace

our spacious home so warm and bright
because in His child He did delight

Psalm 18:19-21

He brought me out into a spacious place; He rescued me because He delighted in me. The Lord has dealt with me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands He has rewarded me. For I have kept the ways of the Lord; I have not done evil by turning from my God.

About the Poet
I grew up in rural North Carolina, married for 38 years to my best friend and soulmate, Allen, who retired almost 17 years ago from the Air Force after 24 years of service to our beloved America. We have a daughter, Ashley ( and son-in-law, Kris) and, a son, John, and, our two beautiful grand daughters, Amelia and Haley, and Isaac, our only grandson, all blessings from God. We have four cats; Mr. Peabody, Missy, aka Middle Kitty and Tabby, aka Little Kitty, and Gracie. I've seen a lot of hard times and God has always been here for me to see me through them. I am a vessel God can use to help others in need. If I could be described in one word, it would be that I am an encourager.
