Look Up

Look Up

now is the prime time

to observe God's beauty sublime

whether the moon is bright or new

gaze at the stars He made for you

get up and see the sunrise

it will be a pleasant surprise

begin your new day

watching birds at play

there's more to life than looking at your feet

look up - smell the rose with fragrance sweet

even that little tree frog

is more important than the latest blog

outside you might see a hot air balloon

or by the water - a duck or a loon

it's too nice outside to stay indoors

for the moment forget about your chores

enjoy the warmth of the sun

live a little - have some fun

oh, don't forget the sunset

look up and you'll have no regret

unless above you a bird should leave

his dropping upon your sleeve

it's worth taking the chance

don't leave God's beauty to happenstance

About the Poet
I grew up in rural North Carolina, married for 38 years to my best friend and soulmate, Allen, who retired almost 17 years ago from the Air Force after 24 years of service to our beloved America. We have a daughter, Ashley ( and son-in-law, Kris) and, a son, John, and, our two beautiful grand daughters, Amelia and Haley, and Isaac, our only grandson, all blessings from God. We have four cats; Mr. Peabody, Missy, aka Middle Kitty and Tabby, aka Little Kitty, and Gracie. I've seen a lot of hard times and God has always been here for me to see me through them. I am a vessel God can use to help others in need. If I could be described in one word, it would be that I am an encourager.
