The Black Wall Whispers

The Black Wall Whispers

Standing in front
of the great wall
you can hear the
whispers amongst
the names printed
there

We fought
were captured
died

These souls wander
the wall hoping
for the acknowledgement
of what it was
all about

Does anyone know
anyone care
look at the
faces that peer
in marked with
tears for those
they fought beside
became friends of
mourning the only
way they know

They bring flowers
they bring rememberances
they bring their hearts
to weep

As they lean against
this great wall
mourning their loss,
something gently wipes
the tears unseen
but felt, a smile
crosses their face

Those within may
have found their
answer as their
friends, family
whispher back to the
loved ones honored
there

If it is within
our power we make
this solemn promise,
to you our long gone
but not forgotten
brave souls, that
never, ever again
will there be
another

Great black wall
