He Chose the Nail

God could see from way on high
that this world was passing by
the word he wrote for you and me
to bring us to our bended knee

He thought there was naught
that he could do
but with this problem he did pursue
He wept, He pondered then he knew
just the thing he had to do

He brought His Son to die for us
high on Calvary, again he wanted
all great sinners coming on bended
knee

He chose a way in which He'd hear
the hardest sinner's wail,
we know it wasn't an easy choice
when He chose the nail

He Chose the Nail (c)2001 Cassie Blake
