The lanterns are soft today, an interior sea palms, blue water, seagulls walking the bridges suspended above the constant movement of waves, waves waves as they bend into the light of the sun. I like these days, when they rise above the earth, days that skip along the surface, uncomplicated, light as air out there, in space, unnoticed by seashells, pelicans on water, toes tingling with salt.
