On His Return

When wild-flowers bloom white
on the meadows light
and cinnamon morning,

and passion-flowers unfold
in fields of spring marigolds,

when peach and apple blossoms
scent the southern winds

and summer sweet as rose petals
ascends with sage and myrrh,

when silos are filled
with the harvest of our Lord

how glorious it will be
oh how glorious it will be
when silos are filled with eternity.
