The Question of Love

The Question of Love

Ever meet the love of your life?

However well it’s spliced

Hate can sever it like a knife

Except it be of Christ

Such love was seen upon a tree

Love of a virgin birth

Love for others running so free

It’s covered all the earth

Such love’s the force within God’s mind

Within His aching heart

Whilst hate can make a man so blind

It tares from God apart

Conflicting factors in the air

No question can remain

What else but love had Christ to share?

Suffering so much pain

Hate could never prove such strength

Whatever fuel we give

Yet love would go to any length

To help another live

Through tender love the sick grow well

With love spirit’s run free

Yet hate can lead to death and hell

Unless it bends it’s knee

Unless it fears The Master’s sword

The Father’s watchful eyes

Where at the feet of Christ The Lord

It shrivels till it dies

For love’s the force Heaven made wise

The sheep of Jesus’ fold

Who’s heads were crowned at hates demise

And in the grave; lies cold.....
