Lament

Lament

Tears wide as oceans, will not dilute the blood
Nor salt the wound, of heart-broken parents
Those bullets lodged, too deep in the marrow
Of suffering.

From a  stable, devoid of manger hay
No star tonight, lights an innkeeper's room
For the children, bared of soul, cold as stone
Lost their laughter.
