GAPING EMPTY TOMB
They laid him to rest for surely he died, crucified.
They laid him to rest in a tomb.
Secured by a stone, stationed to closure of a world relieved.
It is finished, they all thought.
A stone affixed will stay the troublemaker.
So there behind the stone he rested.
For his allotted days, he rested there behind the stone-fastened tomb.
On the third day, as his father and scripture destined.
The stone was rolled away.
Gaping of an empty tomb where an angel there stood guard.
