Celebration of Life

“Out front” was where I’d go,
the place I could default.

Upon the steps the ants, and bugs
would quiver in my salt.

I pulled my knees up to my chest
watching nature play.

Remembering this profound thought
unto this very day.

I could have been a bird
flying through the air,

or something small that wiggles
I stomp without a care.

I’m where I am, and what I am,
and glad that I am me,

and not the thing my dog
is peeing on under that tree.

I guess that’s when it started,
the search for reasons why

I’m not crawling on the ground
or flying in the sky.

My thoughts although so simple
brought me to the place

I knew I needed Jesus
like all the human race.

So what is my life’s purpose?
I must tell you all the news.

Please celebrate what you are
no reason for the blues.

If you’re sad I say again
no reason you should be.

Unless of course you are that thing
that’s underneath the tree!

(Psalm 139 Vs. 14)
I praise you for I am fearfully
and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

About the Poet
I love God and claim Jesus as lord. My purpose is to encourage others to do the same.
