New Year's Resolution

I’m going back to things basics, where God's love you can’t measure
He paid it all for our hearts they’re His glorious treasure

This year will be different, I’ll step up my pace
 Spending quality time seeking after God's face

His commands I have written on my heart and my mind
Chasing after His kingdom and Jesus divine.

I’ll spend time in His word as I’m shaped like the clay
So His will can be done any God-given day.

Let my eyes be His window and my prayers be the blinds
That are drawn with intention letting God’s one sun shine

There is pain and real heartache in the past to endure
But God's mercies and grace provide love that is pure

I'll count on God's blessings through each day this new year
Christian Joy can’t be taken God's word makes that clear.

Let these statements convict me on days I  may roam
When the road becomes narrow or I get far from home 

So make a bold statement, some grandly desire
Find hope as you hold your own feet to the fire..
