(Chasing that Breeze)

Chasing my dreams, taking time from my life,
forsaking my friends, my kids, and my wife.

Time is so short, but I must be the best.
with great effort applied I can beat all the rest.

As my life falls apart I look back on the days,
see time that's been wasted in so many ways.

With lots of regrets, and one’s I'm forty five,
but what's left I will give while I'm still alive.

Sacrifices I've made were quite a few,
made only for me and forget about you.

All the meaningless things that I held so dear
are lost on the breeze when I am not here.

(Blue Breeze)

From underneath the basket I crawl so cautiously,
awakened by the breeze that blows throughout the lives I see.

Today a beast is feeding, proclaiming life's absurd.
I know I should react, like most don't say a word.

I hold my breath still longer, It's not a passing phase,
post-modern prism sunrise, pragmatic ending days.

Erased- the stone carved guidelines, unleashed- a cultural plague.
No truth found in the chicken, they lobby for the egg.

I analyze, then paralyze as my face blooms with the hue.
The beast upon me pounces, it loves utopian blue!

(Smoke on the Breeze)

Where there's smoke there's fire, is revival in store?
Is it occurring today like way back before?

That's hard to believe, probably not true.
I don't see much impact on this culture do you?

If we were all Christians way back in the day
would we stand up to trials or give Christ away?

If they were up here and we were back there
would they even have now a gospel to share?

They spoke boldly the truth to prevent compromise.
Knowing wrong kinds of tolerance kept them from God's prize.

The truth did offend, but they didn't care.
All were grounded in Christ, not up in mid-air.

Does a smoldering life bring only false hope?
God help me be strong on this slippery slope.

Label me critical I'll take my chance,
I say this in love but refuse to tap-dance.

When I'm reading God's warnings my tears hit the page,
thinking we're that last church just before the last age.

Like goats in the field with the rest of the stock
if our feet are not planted upon solid rock.

Why..? Luke warm decisions. Give God whole hearted zeal!.
Like wildfires that race through tall brush in the field.

We have little strength, but we'll keep his word,
we won't deny Jesus his voice we have heard.

Receiving our gifts we make up the bride,
the ones that we have He brings forth from inside.

Time, talent, and treasure, bring victory now,
so let's run the race, Christ shows us how.

All counts for eternity, keep in mind as we barge
through God's open doors, you'll head up the charge.

This world and its ways had us in a rut,
but we're free now to travel through doors no man can shut.

Let's live loud our convictions, watch the good that they do.
He's preparing a place, we should do that here too.

Author note:
All new Christians go through the feeling that
others need to do this, or that.
It is called having your eyes opened to the sin around you.
My friend when I stopped looking around, and turned
my attentions inside, that's when I
found myself having the greatest impact on the world.

Speak the truth in love-(EPH 4:15)
with gentleness, and respect.
