Tug of War

Tug of War

I yearn for those years
long fallen off the calander-
a time now awash
in cosmic ripples
that never reach the shore,
while the unknown, dressed
in the cloak of tomorrow
drags me along, feet stumbling
over today in a tug of war-
the push of the past,
and pull of the future.
