Speak to Me

Speak to Me

Speak to me some night
while the carriage wheels us home,

and the horses' breath veils the air
where once wild flowers bloomed.

Remind me of the smell of grass
fresh mown in childhood's yard,

where sunshine framed the flowers
around the fountain quad.

Talk about new found treasures
excavated every day,

discoveries of life's pleasures
childhood held at bay-

all images of our journey
from birth to the Golden Dome.

Speak to me some night,
while the carriage wheels us home.
