Knowing Deeply


I know
I'm talking to Jesus
not by face or gender
or stature
but by His nature
and by the scars I see---
I put there
in His hands.

Jesus knows
He's talking to me
not by face or gender
or stature
but by my nature
and by the scars He sees
He put there
in my heart.

The scars
are from different
loves---
His love a perfect lamb

It has always
been so easy
to slay a lamb---
