How Clandestine

O Lord
how shall I cloak
my love thoughts for you
make them readable
for more than a few

hide them in poems
tuck them among
wild flowers
in field grasses

slip them behind stones
near a child's grave

dig them furtively
into caves
or gardens planted
at snowy mountain bases

Your love thoughts for me
pour down
like sun's hot rays
hide winter's night
in Bethlehem mangers
hang bleeding
from Calvary crosses

resonate in empty tombs

factor by happenstance
my stumble foot path
fall upon me
raining in Spring showers
gather by quiet hours
in puddles of graces

your love thoughts for me
hidden
in all the obvious places
