O Death, Where is Thy Sting...

O Death, Where is Thy Sting....

My friend has left, she slipped away,
I think she planned it for that day.
Arrangements made and all was set,
not one little thing did she forget.
She said goodbye to all her friends,
did all she could to make amends.
She cleared her slate, one by one,
left not one thing at all undone.
I knew her ways, I knew her well,
I saw her peace and I could tell
the end was near and filled with grace,
His countenance upon her face.
She saw those things that no one could
as death she faced from where she stood.
She stood and faced it, eye to eye
and saw her Savior standing by
arms outstretched to take her hand,
she choose that day to fulfill her plan.
She'd lived her life, her work was done,
She stood and walked into the Son.

In loving memory of my friend, Eurayna Hicks
