Faith and Patience

"Trying our faith worketh patience"
is a scripture that is sound.
Yet often we are guilty of turning it around.
We say, "To try our patience" will make our faith grow strong,
It takes a little thinking, to see why this is wrong.

Trials and temptations does not cause our faith to grow,
But, they will surely "work our patience", the Bible tells us so.
If we'll study in the Bible and learn what we should know,
Place Jesus first in our life...that's when our faith will grow.
And if we'll keep believing, when our faith is on the line,
He'll develop in us patience, if we will give it time.

When we preservere in trials and our faith in God is sure,
Then our patience has been perfected and we're growing more mature.

Then, we'll not be lacking anything, patience's perfect work has made us whole,
Our test and trials we count as joy, His word completed in our soul.
