For years now, I have been a poet,
rhyming my faith into God's verse
coming up with the right words . . .
so His truth I could converse.

I have struggled with the sounds,
of the syllables that I should use
and at times I have thought . . .
their meaning ~ you would refuse.

I've given the nouns my every thought,
my verbs have been carefully chosen
and sometimes all the adjectives . . .
in my mind have become frozen.

I have tried to dot all my i's,
and to cross my every t . . .
but sometimes my punctuation
can get away from me.

My meter may be off,
my rhyme made not be clear
but the one thing that I know
God gives me the words for you to hear.

I am His poet,
He uses me in this way
and all that I want to do
is to make sure His . . .
Mercy
Grace
Love
Forgiveness
Hope
Joy
Peace
Salvation
Glory
. . . . I convey!
