God's Light
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By Deborah Ann Belka
Other Poems by Deborah Ann Belka

God's Light . . .

There are plenty of battles
too many at times to fight
there are many dark days
needing some shred of light.

I struggle with them alone,
no one else to fight for me
in the darkness I look around
but His light I can't see.

I wrestle within my soul,
which changes day-to-day
I look to what is steadfast
The Word, His Truth, the Way.

But, there's something amiss,
the Light is not there . . .
so I stumble around to find it
it's gotta be somewhere.

Out on the darken horizon,
I see these  tiny little specks
the closer I get to Jesus
the more light on me He reflects.

A beam of hope shines brightly,
and shows me the True Way
in His Word I trust and follow
and He brings the Light to my day.

I know I'll have plenty of battles,
that in the darkness I will fight
but I'll not forget what God . . .
has shown me in His Light!
