The Carpenter (a lullaby)

The Carpenter

Lullaby now baby
And I shall tell the story
of a baby just your size
He left his home in glory
he was born a lot like you
listen very closely now
This story's very true

He grew to be a carpenter
as he went along his way
and before every single meal
He would bow his head to pray

People came from far and wide
He could heal their every ill
And if a storm was brewing
He could calm it with his will

He talked of love and innocence
Of peace and troubles too
He told us not to worry
'Cause he knew just what to do

He found his way to Calvary
And gave all he had to give
He went back to Heaven's glory
Where someday we all shall live

We not need worry baby
For it's really not that far
Heaven's right here with me
As I rock you in my arms
