As I Sat

As I Sat As I sat alone tonight, I thought about our Lord.
How He died to pay the price, the one we can't afford.
Through Him I learned forgiveness, He gave me back my smile.
He asked me to come hither, so I sat with Him awhile.

He told me of great history, before the time of man.
In parables He explained to me, so I could understand.
A sacrafice was needed, to forgive the sins of all.
So for that very purpose, Jesus came to take that fall.

But glory be to God, He arose on that third day.
Mary and her friends, seen the stone was rolled away.
A great joy fills my heart, when I read of that event.
Or just to speak the name, of the One that God had sent.

I thank you Lord for the blessings, You bestowed on me.
Sending me a special friend, who I love so dearly.
I thank you for the angel, who doesn't know they're one.
Above all things I thank you Lord, for Jesus, Your only Son.
