Seal of Approval

I may fancy myself a poet,
But I know that I'm not the best;
For I'm not a Helen Steiner Rice
Or the equal of Edgar Guest...

But I write down the words He gives me,
And I ask Him before I start
To please bless all my stumbling efforts,
To please speak to a listening heart.

I don't care much for fame and fortune,
I don't care for the world's reward;
I don't want to be rich and famous,
What I want is to please my Lord.

Let the others seek pomp and grandeur,
The whole world and its gold I'd shun;
It's success AFTER death, I'm after,
Just these two words from Him: "Well done!"

--Connie

"...Well done, thou good and faithful servant...
enter thou into the joy of thy Lord."
(Matthew 25:21, KJV)

About the Poet
IN MEMORIAM I'm just a servant of the Lord that wants to magnify Him through poetry, and to cause others to focus on Him.
