Testing Ground

Testing Ground

He placed me in the desert
and He bade me wander there,
He promised He'd be with me
though the way seem stark and bare.

My eyes could see forever
and there was no end in sight,
No hills to hide a greener path
to save me from my plight.

Mirages filled my heart with hope
then quickly passed away,
I feared He had forgotten me
and left me there to stay.

Monotony and barren days,
I'd more than had my fill;
When strength was gone, I heard His voice:
"Child, do you trust Me still?

"If this were all I had for you,
would you say I know best?
If so, I'll lead you out of here,
My child, you've passed the test."

"Though He slay me,
yet will I trust in Him..."

About the Poet
IN MEMORIAM I'm just a servant of the Lord that wants to magnify Him through poetry, and to cause others to focus on Him.
