Antidote for Pressure-burnout

Antidote for Pressure-burnout

Away from L.A. madness,
From rushing, frowning faces;
From houses crammed-in sardine style,
From concrete, tiny spaces.

Away to Ozark country,
To smiles with time to gab;
To porchswing-minds and lush green hills,
To folks anti-pre-fab.

Prepared for four rich seasons,
For chopping wood for heat;
For good books by the fireside,
For home-grown foods to eat.

Surprised by ticks in summer,
By scorpion in the sink;
By cat's mouth stuffed with lizard,
By dog with skunk-drenched stink.

In love with wildlife's wonders,
With squirrels in walnut tree;
With foxes, deer and freedom,
The country life for me!

About the Poet
IN MEMORIAM I'm just a servant of the Lord that wants to magnify Him through poetry, and to cause others to focus on Him.
