The Marriage Supper

THE MARRIAGE SUPPER

One day the trumpet will blow from heaven,

and our Lord will come down with a shout.

At first, the dead in Christ will rise,

and then every Christian will go out.

Then on the shores of heaven,

what a reunion there will be,

for all our friends and loved ones,

will be there for us to see.

There will be plenty of time to reminisce,

and to see the sights above.

You cannot explain this kind of grace,

His unconditional love.

You will find angels, elders, and cherubim there,

with so many sights to see,

while standing there on streets of gold,

with my family there with me.

After we have seen these wonderful things,

and our reunion is finally done.

The object of all our deepest desire

will appear brighter than any sun.

Jesus in all of His glory,

the one we have waited to behold,

will be standing there before us,

brighter than the purest gold.

One by one, we will come before Him,

and He will wipe our tears away.

Joy will begin to fill our hearts,

to hear our Savior say.

“I am glad to call you brethren;

you have made it through each trial and test.

I have prepared a special place for you,

to receive the very best.

Now come sit down at My table,

the food is always free.

This is the day I have been waiting for,

just to have you here with Me.”

“Please sit down at this wedding feast,

and enjoy everything you see.

For now, you will share with Me in My glory,

and together we will always be.

Nothing will separate you from My Love,

and I am glad to call you friend.

Now you will have eternal life,

a future that will never end.

So enjoy this feast before you,

and remember why you are free.

There was a time when you were lost,

but you put your faith in Me.”
