I Am Finally Home

That final stretch of life’s journey ends, and you are no longer in this land. To a place, you have never been before, in His presence you now stand.

You have reached your final destiny, and are in awe at what you find. To realize you are in a different place, but an even better kind.

You do not feel pain any more, and inside you have no hurt. The flesh you have is made brand new, a kind not made of dirt.

With a love that permeates your being, you are startled at its touch.  You wonder where the pain all went, those ones that hurt so much.

Then you hear the roar of thunder, as brightness fills the sky. You try to move as the place grows brighter, but you cannot and wonder why.

Then you find you are standing in a city, filled with brilliant light. You are unable to speak a single word, as you gaze upon this wonderful sight.

There before you is a beautiful throne, one with angels and elders standing by. You are beholding the face of the One on the throne, with a tear falling from your eye.

Many crowns are thrown at His feet, and everyone there starts to bow. You hear Him speak like the sound of thunder, my child come here to me now.

Slowly you start to move closer to His light, as He reaches to wipe away that tear. Then He says, “welcome my good and faithful servant, come closer you have nothing to fear.

For now that you have overcome, and done your very best. I have washed away your sins forever now enter into my rest.”

Therefore, you enter into His golden city, straight past the pearled gate. Down streets of gold that look like glass, where friends and family wait.

They take you to a mansion, overwhelmed you praise the Lord. For you see the Father has kept His promise, and given you your reward.

Then you come to a stop, as Jesus speaks, the saints all start to sing. Glory to God in the highest, worthy is our King.

Then you realize how much He loves you, Jesus never let you alone, He was preparing a place for you in heaven, so rejoice you are finally home.
