Resurrection Joy With a bright, flash of lightning, and the explosion of thunder, the Son of God now dead. Fallen hopes and uncertain dreams, their joy now lost instead As they took His body down from the cross, and washed His blood away. They placed Him in a borrowed tomb, to prepare for the Sabbath day. Their broken hearts now in dismay, and wondering what should now be done. Would they return to what they did before, they met God’s Holy Son? Some of them hid away in fear and others in disbelief. Trying to decide what they should do, as now their hearts felt grief. They went to prepare His body, as the custom was for the dead. Taking their spices and what was needed, but they forgot what the Lord had said. The women all went down to the tomb, the stone was rolled away. An angel was seated on the stone and they were amazed at what they heard him say. Why do you seek the living, here among the dead? He is not here He is risen, don’t you remember what He had said? They ran and told His disciples, the things they heard the angel say. Two of them took off for the tomb, running all the way. However, the body of Jesus was not there, just the wrappings that He had worn. All of them were neatly folded and not one of them was torn. Mary stayed there at the tomb weeping and continued looking in, this was the one who was delivered from bondage, and forgiven of all her sin. Then someone behind her startled her, it was Jesus her Master and King. She finally realized that it was the Lord, and her soul began to sing. Tell My friends that I have risen, and shortly they will see. Then He came and showed Himself to all of them, and their doubt began to flee. They knew that He would always be with them, to supply what they would need. For they finally realized that the Lord had risen, the Lord has risen indeed.
