Love Your Mother

Love Your Mother

He was hanging on the cross that day,

having finished His work at last.

All of His suffering and all of His pain,

would soon be in the past.

Yet there was one more thing that He had to do,

just before His work was done.

With the final moments before all was finished,

committing His mother to another son.

He placed His mother into His closest friend’s care,

so she would be sheltered from all of harm’s way.

Knowing that soon He would be raised from the grave,

to see her another day.

Nevertheless, seeing His mother’s broken heart,

brought tears as He spoke for her care.

Hanging on the cross fulfilling salvation,

the reason that He was there.

He knew she was hurting and knew how she felt,

but His dying would have to be done.

For the offering of God’s holy sacrifice,

would be given to save everyone.

Here Mary’s Lamb would save the world,

and keep them from going to hell.

She knew that this day would one-day come,

to see the death of Emmanuel.

The God, who came to dwell with man,

would now return to His throne.

Therefore, John took Mary as his mother,

so she would never be left alone.

The story seemed like a short goodbye,

with a mother’s broken heart.

Yet for this reason, He had come,

and she knew they would have to part.

Then as He placed her into His dear friends hands,

His end was now satisfied.

He looked back up to His Father,

lowered His head and the Savior died.

Now even though this story is sad,

it still has a glorious spin,

for as they placed Him in a tomb,

three days later He came back again.

Now it seems as though Mary's heart would break,

as she beheld His Spirit then part.

Yet she held to all the memories from God,

as she kept them all in her heart.
