Gold Among The Garbage?...
Why do we search for gold among the garbage? Why do we probe for pearls among the trash? What's really at the root of our avid search for loot In a world we know will very soon be past?
This aching age will offer gold that glitters Fools gold that's cheap...and never worth the toss Her vaunted vaults procure no interest for the poor Expected gain will turn alas...to loss
Far wiser to invest in heavenly holdings A battle yes...a mix of joy and pain Whate're the sacrifice for The Pearl of Greatest Price Security's assured through Godly gain |

About the Poet
My hope is that through the poems I write God will be glorified.
I am reliant on the Holy Spirit for anything meaningful to say.
I am 71 years of age, married with three of a family...a retired Policeman living in Aberdeen, Scotland.
I play the Classical Guitar about grade4/5 level...and also paint after a fashion...although Van Gogh's in no danger!!
I learned of this site from a Christian friend,Laurie Jenkins.
I do hope that God blesses you through my poetry.
Every Blessing in Christ,
Raymond
