Linger Awhile...Slacken Pace...Go slow...
Linger awhile...slacken pace...go slow... Withdraw from life's pressures confounding Beauty is lost in the rush and the race Dwell on God's mercy abounding
Consider the futile...frenetic display Of a world without moral connection From crises to crises it lurches along Devoid of all Godly direction
Turn aside from the crowd...from the haughty and proud For they hear not the drumbeat of heaven But hasten pell-mell to the opus from hell Beguiled and relentlessly driven
But you man of God...contemplate on your King Froms the sea of forgiveness refreshing Drink your fill and then go...on the ebb and the flow Wherever.....Christ always confessing

About the Poet
My hope is that through the poems I write God will be glorified.
I am reliant on the Holy Spirit for anything meaningful to say.
I am 71 years of age, married with three of a family...a retired Policeman living in Aberdeen, Scotland.
I play the Classical Guitar about grade4/5 level...and also paint after a fashion...although Van Gogh's in no danger!!
I learned of this site from a Christian friend,Laurie Jenkins.
I do hope that God blesses you through my poetry.
Every Blessing in Christ,
Raymond
