Ecclesiastically Speaking

Ecclesiastically Speaking

I counted them today.
My cards are all still there.

Sharp old tool in the shed
not shiny, but I don’t care.

My elevator goes to the top.
I’ve got my marbles too!

I never worried if they were lost,
and neither friend should you.

I don’t compare with fruit cake,
don’t like it anyway.

Not for running round the bush.
so blamelessly I say.

Once it was I could not see,
my eyes are open now.

I thought about it just today
here is what, and how.

My thought was that of nothing
about what rocks have dreams.

So how could there be nothing?
It’s something still it seems.

I‘ve been where there is nothing
and that became a place.

You can’t catch up with nothing
by providing it with space.

Space you can’t call nothing
acknowledgement will breed

something and not nothing!
Now that you’re up to speed.

The closest thing to nothing
I wrote it long ago.

My soul was dry, and dying
where headed I don’t know.

Sadly had no purpose,
wasted days go by.

On the eve of pondered death-
Ecclesiastic Cry.

You can not get to nothing,
it's meaningless to try.

The shadows still are something.
Eternity can’t die!

Authors note:
The book of Ecclesiastes explains the reasons
life is meaningless. Despite all our attempts to
give life meaning we fail.

Not only can we not create true meaning.
We can not eliminate it either.
Only God can give true meaning. For us to think
we could remove it, (impossible) God can't even
remove true meaning from life, it's not His nature.

About the Poet
I love God and claim Jesus as lord. My purpose is to encourage others to do the same.
