A Miniature Home

A Miniature Home

I'm more than a dollhouse, to be used just for play.
I'm a "miniature home," growing memories each day!

Please fill me with treasures
that you hold most dear.
Look for small dolls that would like to live here.
Collect tiny trinkets; add, year after year!

Mementos of travels,
friends, relatives too~
and things that you make, will most certainly do,
to make these rooms home-y
and pleasant
for you.

Then, weave a fine story
'bout your doll family.
(They'll each need a name
and personality.)

Together, we'll create
a lifetime memory,
For I'm more than a "dollhouse;"
I'm an heirloom, you see!

note: I framed this poem and put it next to my miniature home, some time ago. Perhaps it will inspire others to take up the hobby of miniatures- or, with Christmas coming soon,
maybe a dollhouse will wind up on your list for your children, grandchildren, or yourself!!
