Midwest March

Midwest March

Wonderful, unpredictable March.
Spring arrives with torrents of rain.
Mother Nature intervenes,
Robins shiver in the snow.

Balmy, breezy days
Kites - up and away.
Roaring winds lift skirts
Tip hats and tilt umbrellas.

Trees burst with tiny buds
Barren bushes clad in spring colors
Daffodils awake from winter sleep
Grass dons its green velvet mantle.

Day 15 - BEWARE the Ides of March.
Wearin' o' the green, shamrocks, parades.
March, capricious March
Harbinger of summer.

About the Poet
I still have 4 grandsons and love to write. Although it hasn't been easy (nothing worth while ever is), on June 1 Floyd and I will celebrate our 57th wedding anniversary.
