Night Music
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By Gynith Roberts
Other Poems by Gynith Roberts

The voices of the choir creatures singing through the tall prairie grass knew no limitations or restrictions as they composed their music of the night. The night music reached its crescendo:

Crickets chirped in harmony

The bullfrog sang bass

And a whip-poor-will crooned baritone

A coyote wailed his lonesome call

Mosquitos buzzed in unison

A barn owl screeched off-key from the hay loft

As fireflies danced in graceful rhythm

To the Music of the Night.

About the Poet
I still have 4 grandsons and love to write. Although it hasn't been easy (nothing worth while ever is), on June 1 Floyd and I will celebrate our 57th wedding anniversary.
