Outraced
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

Outraced
(Loved ones pass on)

They each will vanish, the whole motley tribe
That strung my one lifetime with
More mystery of self
Than self itself

Such devised evacuations occur
With uncanny precision.They blur
My space, my pangs, my ken of Me.

My reluctant mother stayed longer
Munching mouthfuls of wine in celebration,
As she punched whole lives within my life;

Then morphed into some brittle coma thing,
Outsmarting startled tubes,
Lungs invincible till
The stoic heart was outraced.

Thus they each will vanish
In single file.
I look around and fall in line.
