The Steward's Exclamation

THE STEWARD'S EXCLAMATION

Do whatever he tells you,

This is what Mary had said,

So they filled the water jars,

Just as he had asked them to,

For a bride and groom were wed,

Blessed bond to meter years;

Then from the jars, some they drew,

For tasting by  the steward,

Oh! tis the best wine in years,

Was the steward's exclamation;

So you see, his mother knew,

And thus, he Jesus was led,

To a time, writ in the stars.
