Simple Life

The afternoon sun is warm,
Shadows are stretching
long
from the raspberries
over the first two rows
of potatoes.

The sprinkler is on
a corner of lawn,
and dishes are rattling
in the kitchen.

The day is winding down.
Time for work to stop.
A day of weeding the garden,
and making boots by hand,
in the shop.
