God Loves Her Best

GOD LOVES HER BEST

monotetra

When rival thoughts are forced to cross,
confronting nonconformist dross
requires that truth drive out the gloss
or all is loss, or all is loss.

My rebel looks and longs to fight

and censure sets her mouth to bite

then angry deeds her words incite

which block the light, which block the light.

Compliance is no easy route

for rumble is what she's about.

Is there a way to shake her doubt?

within,  without?  within,  without?

Ask, what is faith without the test?

Assuring her in God we rest,

prayer paves the path for ev'ry quest.

God loves her best, God loves her best.

The monotetra is a new poetic form developed by Michael Walker. Each stanza contains four lines in monorhyme. Each line is in tetrameter (four metrical feet) for a total of eight syllables. What makes the form so powerful is that the last line contains two metrical feet, repeated.  It can have as few as one or two stanzas, or as many as desired.

About the Poet
Growing older with some pains and discomfort, graying hair, glasses, partial plate and hearing aids but with complete assurance of my eternal domain. Saved by choice by Gods free grace by Jesus life, death and resurrection. Born and bred in the Bluegrass State for 24 years, I crossed the Ohio River and became a Hoosier forever thereafter until that time God calls me to my heavenly home. Christian for fifty-five plus years. Church musician and SS teacher for most all of my Wednesdays and Sundays. Public school teacher for thirty-six school terms; retired with a class now of three grandchildren off and on during the week. Wife for half my life to the same superman. Mama to two unique sons. Mother-in-law to a fine daughter; Nana to one darling girl and two handsome guys. God has blessed me abundantly; thank you, Father. God quiets my hackles; God quickens my heart; God quells my hunger. Blessed be His holy name.
