Jesus, the Open Door

Who is this Jesus?   Is He perfection?
Reflect on His names and find the connection.
He is the Key yet He is the Door,
ask to gain access; enter and explore.

How can He be both Beginning and End,
a royal Sovereign and a loyal Friend?
He's Lawgiver, Faithful Witness, and Judge
also an Advocate who will not budge.

He's the Author of Life as well as the Word.
The Lamb and equally the Chief Shepherd
whose still small Voice commands His flock.
He's Cornerstone, Capstone and Solid Rock.

Root of David, Seed of Abraham,
Righteous Branch, He's the Great I Am.
He's the Sacrifice and the High Priest too;
Servant who'll submit; Master who'll subdue.

He's both the Gift and Giver of Salvation,
the Builder, and our Sure Foundation.
Divinely human without façade,
He is Son of Man and Son of God.

He is the Key yet He is the Door,
ask to gain access; enter and explore.
Who is this Jesus?   Is He perfection?
Reflect on His names and find the connection.

Hebrews 2:9-10
"But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.    For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings."

About the Poet
Growing older with some pains and discomfort, graying hair, glasses, partial plate and hearing aids but with complete assurance of my eternal domain. Saved by choice by Gods free grace by Jesus life, death and resurrection. Born and bred in the Bluegrass State for 24 years, I crossed the Ohio River and became a Hoosier forever thereafter until that time God calls me to my heavenly home. Christian for fifty-five plus years. Church musician and SS teacher for most all of my Wednesdays and Sundays. Public school teacher for thirty-six school terms; retired with a class now of three grandchildren off and on during the week. Wife for half my life to the same superman. Mama to two unique sons. Mother-in-law to a fine daughter; Nana to one darling girl and two handsome guys. God has blessed me abundantly; thank you, Father. God quiets my hackles; God quickens my heart; God quells my hunger. Blessed be His holy name.
